opportunity for public comment on the
proposed collection of certain
information by the agency. Under the
Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of
1995, Federal agencies are required to
publish notice in the Federal Register
concerning each proposed collection of
information, including each proposed
revision of a currently approved
collection, and allow 60 days for public
comment in response to the notice. This
notice solicits comments on information
needed to apply for increased disability
compensation based on
unemployability.

Abstract: VA Form 21–8940 is used
by veterans to file a claim for increased
disability compensation based on
unemployability. Claimants are required
to provide current medical, educational,
and occupational history in order for
VA to determine whether he or she is
unable to secure or follow a
substantially gainful employment due to
service-connected disabilities.

Abstract: VA Form 21–8926 is used to
verify beneficiaries receiving REPS
benefits based on schoolchild status are
in fact enrolled full-time in an approved
school and is otherwise eligible for
continued benefits. The program pays
benefits to certain surviving spouses
and children of Veterans who died in
service prior to August 13, 1981 or who
died as a result of a service-connected
disability incurred or aggravated prior to
August 13, 1981. Beneficiaries over age
18 and under age 23 must be enrolled
full–time in an approved post–
secondary school at the beginning of the
school year to continue receiving REPS
benefits.
