Need for Collection
The form is used by persons applying
to make and register a firearm that falls
within the purview of the National
Firearms Act. The information supplied
by the applicant on the form helps to
establish the applicant’s eligibility. The
changes to the form are to allow
applicants to pay the transfer tax by
credit or debit card, and combine

information currently captured on
another form.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: It is estimated that 9,662
respondents will take an average of
approximately 1.69 hours to complete.

There are an estimated 16,374 annual
total burden hours associated with this

Need for Collection
