Frequency: One time. Executive Order 12656 (Assignment of Emergency Preparedness Responsibilities) assigns Federal departments and agencies responsibilities during emergency situations. In its supporting role to the Departments of State and Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Defense will assist in planning for the protection, evacuation and repatriation of U.S. citizens in threatened areas overseas. The DD Form 2585, ‘‘Repatriation Processing Center Processing Sheet,’’ has numerous functions, but is primarily used for personnel accountability of all evacuees who process through designated Repatriation Centers. During processing, evacuees are provided emergency human services, including food, clothing, lodging, family reunification, social services and financial assistance through federal entitlements, loans or emergency aid organizations. The information, once collected, is input into the Automated Repatriation Reporting System, and is available to designated offices throughout Departments of Defense, State, Health and Human Services, the American Red Cross and State government emergency planning offices for operational inquiries and reporting and future planning purposes.
