SUMMARY: EPA has granted experimental use permits (EUPs) to the 
following pesticide applicants: Stephen L. Dobson (University of 
Kentucky) and Phyllom, LLC. An EUP permits use of a pesticide for 
experimental or research purposes only in accordance with the 
limitations in the permit.

    These actions are directed to the public in general. Although these 
actions may be of particular interest to those persons who conduct or 
sponsor research on pesticides, the Agency has not attempted to 
describe all the specific entities that may be affected by these 
actions.

release of 30,000 mosquitoes per week for 26 weeks from approximately 
52 grams of Wolbachia pipientis infected Aedes polynesiensis mosquito 
eggs (containing approximately 0.52 mg Wolbachia pipientis microbial 
active ingredient used as an insecticide on approximately 97 acres to 
evaluate the suppression of the native Aedes polynesiensis). One of the 
sites will be a control site. The program is authorized only in the 
United States Territory of Samoa. The EUP is effective from June 15,
