requires items offered for sale to VA
under the solicitation conform to certain
technical industry standards, such as
Underwriters Laboratory (UL) or the
National Fire Protection Association.
Contractor must furnish evidence to VA
stating that the items meet the

tag or seal affixed to the item, such as
the UL tag on an electrical cord or a tag

specified standards.

abbreviation. In addition, the firm must
ensure the container is tagged or labeled
indicating the name and address of the
approved producer or shipper, the name
of the State of origin, and the certificate
number of the approved producer or
shipper. The information is used to
ensure shellfish purchased by VA are
from a State and Federal approved and
inspected source.
