Introduction By letters dated May 16, 2012 and June 8, 2012, Crow Butte Resources, Inc. (CBR) submitted a request to amend Source Material License SUA–1534 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to construct and operate an in situ uranium recovery (ISL) satellite facility at its Marsland site in Dawes County, Nebraska. An NRC administrative review, documented in an email to CBR dated October 5, 2012, found the application acceptable to begin a technical review (ADAMS Accession No. ML12285A142). Prior to approving the amendment request, the NRC will need to make the findings required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the NRC’s regulations. The NRC’s findings will be documented in a safety evaluation report and an environmental review report. The environmental review report will be the subject of a subsequent notice in the Federal Register. II. Opportunity To Request a Hearing The NRC hereby provides notice that this is a proceeding on an amendment to Source Material License SUA–1534 to construct and operate an ISL satellite facility at CBR’s Marsland site in Dawes County, Nebraska. Requirements for hearing requests and petitions for leave to intervene are found in 10 CFR 2.309, ‘‘Hearing requests, petitions to intervene, requirements for standing, and contentions.’’ Interested persons should consult 10 CFR part 2, Section 2.309, which is available at the NRC’s PDR, located at O1–F21, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852 (or call the PDR at 800–397–4209 or 301–415–4737).
