Federal Register / Vol. 77, No. 153 / Wednesday, August 8, 2012 / Notices
wreier-aviles on DSK7SPTVN1PROD with NOTICES
content. Video content available online
is increasing, and reports indicate that
an increasing number of consumers are
viewing videos online. To what extent
are consumers becoming ‘‘cord
avoiders’’ and dropping MVPD service
in favor of OVDs or a combination of
OVDs and over-the-air television? Are
consumers reducing their MVPD
subscriptions by, for example,
substituting Netflix for premium
channels or VOD services? Do
consumers view OVD services
separately or in conjunction with overthe-air broadcast television service as a
potential substitute for MVPD service?
What impact do ‘‘cord-nevers’’ have on
the market for delivered video
programming?
80. Video distributors advertise their
services on television, in newspapers,
and through mailings, as well as offer
Internet sites where potential consumers
can find information about services,
equipment, prices, and the cost of
installation. We seek data, information,
and comment on the consumer
information sources for delivered video
programming services and equipment.
Do consumers have sufficient
information to compare the prices,
services, and equipment that video
distributors offer? What do consumers
consider most important when choosing
a provider? What do consumers say are
the main reasons for switching
providers (e.g., price, program packages,
and customer service)?
