AGENCY:
The Pipeline and Hazardous
Materials Safety Administration
(PHMSA) and the National Association
of Pipeline Safety Representatives are
hosting a Government/Industry Pipeline
Research and Development (R&D)
Forum. The R&D Forums are held
periodically to generate a National
research agenda that will foster
solutions for the many challenges with
pipeline safety and with protecting the
environment.
The forum allows public, government
and industry pipeline stakeholders to
discuss the technical gaps and
challenges for future research. The
forum is also intended to help reduce
duplication of programs, factor ongoing
research efforts, leverage resources and
broaden synergies. The national
research agenda coming out of these
events is aligned with the needs of the
pipeline safety mission, makes use of
the best available knowledge and
expertise, and considers stakeholder

working group sessions.

18, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until
approximately 5:00 p.m. EDT and July
19, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
EDT. Name badge pickup and onsite
registration will be available starting at
7:00 a.m. EDT each day.

ACTION:
In accordance with the
procedures governing the application
for, and the processing of, special
permits from the Department of
Transportation’s Hazardous Material
Regulations (49 CFR Part 107, Subpart
B), notice is hereby given that the Office
of Hazardous Materials Safety has
received the application described
herein. Each mode of transportation for
which a particular special permit is
requested is indicated by a number in
the ‘‘Nature of Application’’ portion of
the table below as follows: 1—Motor
vehicle, 2—Rail freight, 3—Cargo vessel,
4—Cargo aircraft only, 5—Passengercarrying aircraft.
