The National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST)
invites interested parties to attend a preconsortium meeting on ‘‘Developing
Standard Requirements for Fatigue
Performance of Transvenous Cardiac
Pacing and Defibrillation Leads.’’
DATES: The meeting will take place on
May 30, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The goal
of the consortium will include
determining methods that best measure
the fatigue performance of transvenous
cardiac pacing leads. This goal will be
achieved by evaluating current practices
used in industry and developing
standard requirements. Consortium
planning and standard development
would be conducted by NIST staff along
with at least one technical
representative from each participating
member entities and any outside
technical experts they should designate.
Each member of the consortium will be
required to sign a Cooperative Research
and Development Agreement
(‘‘CRADA’’) with NIST. Membership
fees for participation in the consortium
will be Two Thousand ($2,000) per year.
It is anticipated that the initial term of
the consortium will be Two (2) years.
The deadline for joining the consortium
is June 29, 2012. After June 29, 2012 no
new members will be able to join the
Consortium.

held May 15, 2012, from 2 p.m. until 4
p.m.

measures currently in the draft
Comprehensive Ecosystem-Based
Management Amendment 3 (CE–BA 3).
Measures under consideration include,
but are not limited to, extension of
existing deepwater Coral Habitat Areas
of Particular Concern, and measures to
reduce bycatch mortality on speckled
hind and Warsaw grouper through the
creation or expansion of marine
protected areas. The AP will provide
recommendations on measures for
inclusion into a public hearing draft for
CE–BA3 and discuss other habitat issues
as needed.
Although non-emergency issues not
contained in this agenda may come

before this group for discussion, those
issues may not be the subject of formal
action during this meeting. Action will
be restricted to those issues specifically
listed in this notice and any issues

section 305(c) of the Magnuson-Stevens
Fishery Conservation and Management
Act, provided the public has been
notified of the Council’s intent to take
final action to address the emergency.

The meeting is physically accessible
to people with disabilities. Requests for
auxiliary aids should be directed to the
Council office (see ADDRESSES) 3 days
prior to the meeting.
