A Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS/EIR for the Calnev Pipeline Expansion Project was published in the Federal Register (73 FR 13558) on Thursday, March 13, 2008. The BLM and San Bernardino County held five public scoping meetings: Rialto, California on April 1, April 30, and June 18, 2008; Victorville, California on April 2, 2008; and Las Vegas, Nevada on April 3, 2008. The formal scoping period ended on July 1, 2008. Issues and concerns raised during the scoping period involved impacts to visual resources, health and safety and natural resources.
