previously announced advisory
committee meeting cannot always be

Agenda: The committees will provide
advice on types of consumer studies
needed to assess proper use of a MedKit
containing doxycycline to be taken in
the event of anthrax exposure. Issues
such as the feasibility of an FDAapproved MedKit as a public health
strategy, the role of personal MedKits,
home stockpiling, and interfaces of
home readiness with public health
systems, will be raised in the course of
the discussions. The Biomedical
Advanced Research and Development
Authority will propose a possible plan
for a step-wise development program for
MedKits containing oral doxycycline
hyclate.
FDA intends to make background
material available to the public no later
than 2 business days before the meeting.
If FDA is unable to post the background
material on its Web site prior to the
meeting, the background material will
be made publicly available at the
location of the advisory committee
meeting, and the background material
will be posted on FDA’s Web site after

approximate time requested to make

2012. Time allotted for each
presentation may be limited. If the
