Abstract of proposed collection:
The Department of State uses Form
DS–230 (Application for Immigrant Visa
and Alien Registration), in conjunction
with a personal interview, to determine
an applicant’s eligibility for an
immigrant visa. The form requests only
information necessary to determine the
applicant’s eligibility for a requested
immigrant visa. An immigrant visa may
not be issued without the requested
information.
Methodology:
The form is required to be filled out
and completed by the applicant. This
application can also be collected for free
at consular posts worldwide.
