Description of Project: The existing run-of-river Don Grant Hydroelectric Project consists of: (1) An existing 158foot-long, 8-foot-high high-rock-laid dam with a small reservoir; (2) a 11-foot wide by 12.5-foot-long powerhouse, attached to a residence, containing a 37.5 kW Leffel turbine/generator; (3) a tailrace releasing water into South Chickamauga Creek; (4) a 37-foot-long transmission line; and (5) appurtenant facilities. When a Petition for Declaratory Order is filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Power Act requires the Commission to investigate and determine if the interests of interstate or foreign commerce would be affected by the proposed project.
