projected Heads-Up Display (HUD) to
cue weapons and aircraft sensors to air
and ground targets. This system projects
visual targeting and aircraft performance
information on the back of the helmet’s
visor, enabling the pilot to monitor this
information without interrupting his
field of view through the cockpit
canopy. This provides significant
improvement for close combat targeting
and engagement. The JHMCS hardware
is Unclassified; technical data and
documentation are classified up to
Secret.

adversary were to obtain knowledge of
the specific hardware and software
elements, the information could be used
to develop countermeasures which
might reduce weapon system
effectiveness or be used in the
development of a system with similar or
advanced capabilities.

1995 (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35) requires
that the Office of Management and
Budget (OMB) provide interested

whether the information will have
practical utility; (2) Evaluate the
accuracy of the agency’s estimate of the
burden of the proposed collection of
information, including the validity of
the methodology and assumptions used;
(3) Enhance the quality, utility, and
clarity of the information to be
collected; and (4) Minimize the burden
of the collection of information on those
who are to respond, including through
the use of appropriate automated,
electronic, mechanical, or other
technological collection techniques or
