conduct a comprehensive revision of
Form N–470 instead of extending the
current edition. USCIS invites members
of the public who commented on the 60day extension to submit their comments
on the revised form.

determine whether an alien who intends
to be absent from the United States for
a period of one year or more is eligible
to preserve residence for naturalization
purposes.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: 525 responses at 36 minutes (.6
hours) per response.
(6) An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
collection: 315 annual burden hours.

Management and Budget (OMB) for

1995. The information collection was
previously published as an extension in
the Federal Register on August 1, 2011,
at 76 FR 45843, allowing for a 60-day
public comment period. USCIS received
comments on the 60-day notice. A
discussion of the comments and USCIS’
response is discussed in item 8 of the
supporting statement that can be viewed

The purpose of this notice is to allow
an additional 30 days for public
comments. Comments are encouraged
and will be accepted until November 14,
2011. This process is conducted in
accordance with 5 CFR 1320.10.
