Privacy Act Impact Assessment: N/A. Nature and Extent of Confidentiality: The Commission is not requesting that respondents submit confidential information to the FCC. Respondents may, however, request confidential treatment for information they believe to be confidential under 47 CFR 0.459 of the Commission’s rules. Needs and Uses: The Commission will submit this expiring information collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) after this 60 day comment period in order to obtain the full three year clearance from them. The Commission is requesting OMB approval for an extension of this information collection. The Commission has taken actions to immediately stem increasing instances of interference to 800 MHz public safety communications systems as well as address the underlying cause of 800 MHz interference. The PRA burden involves the exchange of information to facilitate incumbent relocation. This information exchange is necessary to effectuate band reconfiguration, i.e., to spectrally separate incompatible technologies, which is the underlying cause of interference to public safety. Overall the PRA burden is necessary to enable the Commission to determine the parties are acting in good faith resolving the 800 MHz public safety interference problem and to keep the 800 MHz transition moving efficiently.
