Summary: We need the information sought in this collection, which includes forms CG–4355 and CG–5148, to ensure compliance with our rules for the design and operation of liquefied gas carriers. Need: Section 3703 and 9101 of 46 U.S.C. authorizes the Coast Guard to establish regulations to protect life, property, and the environment from the hazards associated with the carriage of dangerous liquid cargo in bulk. Part 154 of 46 CFR prescribes these rules for the carriage of liquefied gases in bulk on self-propelled vessels by governing the design, construction, equipment, and operation of these vessels and the safety of personnel aboard them. Section 109(i) of the MMPA authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to prescribe marking, tagging, and reporting regulations applicable to the Alaska Native subsistence and handicraft take.
