Such information must include an indication of the age group for which the program is intended. These requirements are intended to provide greater clarity about broadcasters’ obligations under the Children’s Television Act (CTA) of 1990 to air programming ‘‘specifically designed’’ to serve the educational and informational needs of children and to improve public access to information about the availability of these programs. The deduction may be taken in the year the energy-efficient improvements are placed in service. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (Pub. L. 110–343) extended this deduction through December 31, 2013. The provisions authorizing the deduction are codified in the 26 U.S.C. § 179D.
