Needs and Uses: Individuals or entities who believe that they would be damaged by the registration of a mark may file an opposition to the registration of that mark, or an extension of time to file an opposition, under Section 13 of the Trademark Act, 15 U.S.C. 1063. If a mark is successfully opposed, registration will not take place.
