Status: Open to the public, limited

The public comment periods are
tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m.–4:15
p.m. on February 17, 2011 and from
12 p.m.–12:15 p.m. on February 18,
2011.
Purpose: The ES will provide counsel
to the ACD, CDC, regarding a broad
range of public health ethics questions
and issues arising from programs,
scientists and practitioners.
Matter To Be Discussed: Agenda items
will include the following: A review of
public comments submitted on the
ethical considerations document for the
allocation of ventilators during a severe
pandemic; finalizing the presentation
for the ACD on ethical issues related to
non-communicable disease prevention
and control; and a review of the
outcome of discussions with state,
tribal, local, and territorial health
officers on public health ethics
challenges, including an assessment of
available options towards the
development of practical tools to assist
health departments in their efforts to
address these challenges.
The agenda is subject to change as
priorities dictate.
