Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. (4) Affected public who will be asked or required to respond, as well as a brief abstract: Primary: Individuals or households. Other: Business or other for-profit, Federal Government, State, Local or Tribal Government. Abstract: The form is used to determine whether firearms, ammunition and implements of war are eligible for importation into the United States. It is also used to secure authorization to import such articles and serves as authorization to the U.S. Customs Service to allow these articles entry into the United States. (5) An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond: There will be an estimated 11,000 respondents, who will complete the form within approximately 30 minutes. (6) An estimate of the total burden (in hours) associated with the collection: There are an estimated 5,500 total burden hours associated with this collection.
