Agenda: The committee will hear
reports from its workgroups, including
the Meaningful Use Workgroup, the
Privacy & Security Tiger Team, the
Information Exchange Workgroup, the
Enrollment Workgroup, and the
Governance Workgroup. ONC intends to
make background material available to
the public no later than two (2) business
days prior to the meeting. If ONC is
unable to post the background material
on its Web site prior to the meeting, it
will be made publicly available at the
location of the advisory committee
meeting, and the background material
will be posted on ONC’s Web site after
the meeting, at https://healthit.hhs.gov.
Procedure: Interested persons may
present data, information, or views,
orally or in writing, on issues pending
before the committee. Written
submissions may be made to the contact

Oral comments from the public will be
scheduled between approximately 2:30
p.m. to 3 p.m. Time allotted for each

This notice announces a
public meeting of the Technical
Advisory Panel on Medicare Trustee
Reports (Panel). Notice of this meeting
is given under the Federal Advisory
Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App. 2, section
10(a)(1) and (a)(2)). The Panel will
discuss the long-term rate of change in
health spending and may make
recommendations to the Medicare
Trustees on how the Trustees might
more accurately estimate health
spending in the long run. The Panel’s

technical in nature and will focus on the
actuarial and economic assumptions
and methods by which Trustees might
more accurately measure health
spending. Although panelists are not
limited in the topics they may discuss,
the Panel is not expected to discuss or
recommend changes in current or future
Medicare provider payment rates or
coverage policy. This notice also
announces the appointment of nine
individuals to serve as members of the
Panel.

Panel. They are: Joseph Newhouse, John
Bertko, Barry Bosworth, Michael
Chernew, John Cookson, Uwe
Reinhardt, Geoffrey Sandler, Louise
Sheiner, and Cori Uccello.
Topics of the Meeting: The Panel is
specifically charged with discussing and
possibly making recommendations to
the Medicare Trustees on how the
Trustees might more accurately estimate
the long term rate of health spending in
the United States. The discussion is
expected to focus on highly technical
aspects of estimation involving
economics and actuarial science.
Panelists are not restricted, however, in
the topics that they choose to discuss.
