invites public comments about our
intention to request the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB)
approval to renew an information
collection. The collection of information
is for the purpose of obtaining essential
information concerning the applicants’
professional and personal qualifications.
The FAA uses the information to screen
and select the designees who serve as
aviation medical examiners.

must undergo periodic examinations by

sought.

authority to exempt individuals from
the vision requirement if the
exemptions granted will not
compromise safety. The Agency has
concluded that granting these
exemption renewals will provide a level
of safety that is equivalent to, or greater
than, the level of safety maintained
without the exemptions for these
commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
drivers.
