AGENCY: Office of the Under Secretary of
Defense (Personnel and Readiness),

ACTION: Notice.
SUMMARY: In compliance with section
3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995, the Office of the
Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel
and Readiness) announces the following
proposed reinstatement of a public
information collection and seeks public
comment on the provisions thereof.
Comments are invited on: Whether the
proposed collection of information is
necessary for the proper performance of
the functions of the agency, including
whether the information shall have
practical utility; the accuracy of the
agency’s estimate of burden of the
proposed information collection; ways
to enhance the quality, utility, and
clarity of the information to be
collected; and ways to minimize the
burden of the information collection on
respondents, including through the use
of automated collection techniques or
other forms of information technology.
DATES: Consideration will be given to all
comments received by August 30, 2010.

collection is necessary for personnel
accountability of all evacuees,
regardless of nationality, who are
processed through designated
Repatriation Centers throughout the
United States. The information obtained
from the DD Form 2585 is entered into
an automated system; a series of reports
is accessible to DoD Components,
Federal and State agencies and Red
Cross, as required.

households, Federal government.
Annual Burden Hours: 1,667.
Number of Respondents: 5,000.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Summary of Information Collection
Executive Order 12656 (Assignment
of Emergency Preparedness
Responsibilities) assigns Federal
departments and agencies
responsibilities during emergency
situations. In its supporting role to the
Departments of State and Health and
Human Services (HHS), the Department
of Defense will assist in planning for the
protection, evacuation and repatriation
of U.S. citizens in threatened areas
overseas. The DD Form 2585,
‘‘Repatriation Processing Center
Processing Sheet’’, has numerous
