On November 5, 2009, Coastal
Hydropower LLC filed an application
for a preliminary permit, pursuant to
section 4(f) of the Federal Power Act,
proposing to study the feasibility of the
Green River Lock and Dam No. 6
Hydroelectric Project, located on the
Green River near Brownsville,
Kentucky. The sole purpose of a
preliminary permit, if issued, is to grant
the permit holder priority to file a
license application during the permit
term. A preliminary permit does not

authorize the permit holder to perform
any land disturbing activities or
otherwise enter upon lands or waters
owned by others without the owners’
express permission.
The proposed project would consist of
the following:
(1) 2 VLH 4000 low head units; (2) a
switchyard; (3) a 1⁄2-mile long
transmission line; and (4) appurtenant
facilities. The proposed Green River
Lock and Dam No. 6 Hydroelectric
Project would have an average annual
generation of 4.4 gigawatt-hours.

Project would have an average annual
generation of 26.3 gigawatt-hours.
