Abstract: This document contains
final regulations under Section 882(c) of
the Internal Revenue Code concerning
the determination of the interest
expense deduction of foreign
corporations engaged in a trade or
business within the United States.
These final regulations conform the
interest expense rules to recent U.S.
Income Tax Treaty agreements and
adopt other changes to improve
compliance.
Current Actions: Final regulations and
removal of temporary regulations. There
is no change in burden.
Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Business or other forprofit institutions.

Treasury, as part of its continuing effort

burden, invites the general public and
other Federal agencies to take this
opportunity to comment on proposed
and/or continuing information
collections, as required by the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995,
Public Law 104–13 (44 U.S.C.
3506(c)(2)(A)). Currently, the IRS is
soliciting comments concerning Form
8879–S, IRS e-file Signature
Authorization for Form 1120S.
