Disclosure Act (HMDA) Loan/
Application Register.

Description of the Need for the
Information and its Proposed Use: The
HMDA Loan/Application Register
collects information from mortgage
lenders on application for, and
originations and purchases of, mortgage
and home improvement loans.
Non-depository mortgage lending
institutions are required to use the
information generated as a running log
throughout the calendar year, and send
the information to HUD by March 1 of
the following calendar year.

HUD Reviewer Analysis of Appraisal
Report. This information is provided by
the lenders and reviewed for any and all
comments that are provided by the
lender on deficient information
contained in the appraisal report. The
information collected is used by FHA to
monitor the quality of the lender’s
analysis of the appraisal report, identify
areas of weakness for future training,
and removing lenders that consistently
exhibit careless underwriting and
subsequently affect the risk to the
Department.
