a nonbanking company, the review also
includes whether the acquisition of the
nonbanking company complies with the
standards in section 4 of the BHC Act
(12 U.S.C. 1843). Unless otherwise
noted, nonbanking activities will be
conducted throughout the United States.

AGENCY: Federal Trade Commission
(‘‘FTC’’ or ‘‘Commission’’).
ACTION: Notice.
SUMMARY: The FTC intends to conduct
two exploratory studies on consumer
susceptibility to fraudulent and
deceptive marketing. This research will
be conducted to further the FTC’s
mission of protecting consumers from
unfair and deceptive marketing. Before
gathering this information, the FTC is
seeking public comments on its
proposed research. This notice seeks
comments on the Fraud Susceptibility
Experiment Study, one of the two
studies. The Commission is also seeking
comments on the other study in a
separate Federal Register notice.
