veterans service organization or an
individual to assist in the preparation,
representation, and prosecution of
claims for VA benefits and to authorize
VA to disclose any or all records to the
appointed representative.
An agency may not conduct or
sponsor, and a person is not required to
respond to a collection of information
unless it displays a currently valid OMB
control number. The Federal Register
Notice with a 60-day comment period
soliciting comments on this collection
of information was published on
February 10, 2009, at pages 6696–6697.

Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.
Abstract: Veteran-borrowers complete
VA Form 26–6381 to sell their home by
assumption rather than requiring the
purchaser to obtain their own financing
to pay off the VA guaranteed home loan.
In order for the veteran-borrower to be
released from personal liability, the loan
must be current and the purchaser must
assume all of the veteran’s liability to
the Government and to the mortgage
holder and meet the credit and income
requirements.
An agency may not conduct or
sponsor, and a person is not required to
respond to a collection of information
unless it displays a currently valid OMB
control number. The Federal Register
