SUMMARY: The Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAPs) for the first two quarters of Fiscal Year 2009 have been recalculated pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). These percentages will be effective from October 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009. This notice announces the calculated FMAPs that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will use in determining the amount of Federal matching for State medical assistance under Title XIX and Title IV–E. The table gives figures for each of the 50 States and the District of Columbia. Adjusted figures are not shown for Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands since territories have a choice between two methodologies to determine their recalculated figures.
