1151.42. The Arts Endowment plans to
make available to our grantees the
Section 504 Self-Evaluation Workbook
to assist them in evaluating the
accessibility of their programs,
activities, policies and practices to
insure compliance with the 504
regulations.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
I. Introduction
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) is issuing for public
comment a draft guide in the agency’s
‘‘Regulatory Guide’’ series. This series
was developed to describe and make
available to the public such information
as methods that are acceptable to the
NRC staff for implementing specific
parts of the NRC’s regulations,
techniques that the staff uses in
evaluating specific problems or
postulated accidents, and data that the
staff needs in its review of applications
for permits and licenses.
The draft regulatory guide (DG), titled,
‘‘Risk-Informed, Performance-Based Fire
Protection for Existing Light-Water
Nuclear Power Plants,’’ is temporarily
identified by its task number, DG–1218,
which should be mentioned in all
related correspondence. DG–1218 is the
proposed Revision 1 of Regulatory
Guide 1.205.
DG–1218 provides guidance for use in
complying with the requirements that
the NRC has promulgated for riskinformed, performance-based fire
protection programs (FPPs) that comply
with Title 10, section 50.48(c), of the
Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR
50.48(c)) and the referenced 2001
Edition of the National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) standard, NFPA
