(‘‘the Act’’) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (‘‘IEEE’’) has filed written notifications simultaneously with the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing additions or changes to its standards development activities. The notifications were filed for the purpose of extending the Act’s provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to actual damages under specified circumstances. Specifically, 10 new standards have been initiated and 19 existing standards are being revised. The Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) will be submitting the following information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance in accordance with established review procedures of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The proposed information collection is published to obtain comments from the public and affected agencies. This proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on October 10, 2008, Volume 73, Number 73, Page 60324, allowing for a 60 day comment period. The purpose of this notice is to allow for an additional 30 days for public comment until January 12, 2009. This process is conducted in accordance with 5 CFR 1320.10. This form is needed to collect information on the number of full-time civilian employees and sworn full-time law enforcement officers throughout the United States. Data are tabulated and published in the annual Crime in the United States. (5) An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond: There are approximately 17,738 law enforcement agency respondents; calculated estimates indicate 8 minutes per report. (6) An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated with this collection: There are approximately 2,365 hours, annual burden, associated with this information collection.
