Rapids powerhouse tailrace. This
measure, for public safety, would move
the delineated tailrace bank fishing area
about 600 feet east along the tailrace
canal. Anglers would continue to have
access to the remaining 8,000 linear feet
of the tailrace canal. Also, at the request
of the City of Roanoke Rapids, the
licensee would make improvements to
the eastern trail access to the tailrace
canal by either constructing footbridges
over two small tributaries, where culvert
pipes have washed out, or replacing the
culvert pipes.
