Public Law 104–13. Comments
regarding (a) Whether the collection of
information is necessary for the proper
performance of the functions of the
agency, including whether the
information will have practical utility;
(b) the accuracy of the agency’s estimate
of burden including the validity of the
methodology and assumptions used; (c)
ways to enhance the quality, utility and
clarity of the information to be
collected; (d) ways to minimize the
burden of the collection of information
on those who are to respond, including
through the use of appropriate
automated, electronic, mechanical, or
other technological collection

SUMMARY: In accordance with the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the
Forest Service is seeking comments
from all interested individuals and
organizations on the extension with no
revision of a currently approved
information collection, Grazing Permit
Administration Forms.
DATES: Comments must be received in
writing on or before January 27, 2009, to
be assured of consideration. Comments
received after that date will be
considered to the extent practicable.

Title: Grazing Permit Administration

Type of Request: Extension with no
revision.
Abstract: This information collection
is necessary to allow proper
administration of livestock grazing
programs on National Forest System
(NFS) lands. Domestic livestock grazing
occurs on approximately 90 million
acres of NFS lands. Grazing on NFS
lands is subject to authorization and
administrative oversight by the Forest
Service. The information collected by
the Forest Service is the minimum
required for issuance and
administration of grazing permits,
including fee collections, as authorized
by the Federal Land Policy and
Management Act (FLPMA) of 1976, as
amended (43 U.S.C. 1700 et seq.) and
United States Department of Agriculture
regulations at 36 CFR part 222, subparts
A and C. Similar information is not
available from any other source.
Forest Service officials use the
following forms to collect the
information necessary to administer this
program.
FS–2200–1; Refund, Credit or Transfer
Application collects the following
information:
• Name and mailing address.
• Permit number.
• National Forest or Grassland and
Ranger District.
