SUMMARY: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, as part of 
its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden,

    NASA needs to collect racial and ethnic data information from on-
line job applicants to determine if NASA's recruitment efforts are 
reaching all segments of the country, as required by Federal law.

II. Method of Collection

    NASA will utilize a Web-based application form with instructions 
and other application materials also on-line. All data will be 
collected via this Web-based application (separate under graduate and 
graduate forms) and unless the user chooses to download the application 
form and other application materials and mail them in. NASA will 
utilize an on-line job application system to collect information. There 
is no other information technology application available to reduce 
applicant burden.

III. Data

    Title: NASA Voluntary On-Line Job Applicant Racial and Ethnic Data 
Collection.
    OMB Number: 2700-XXXX.
    Type of Review: New collection.
    Affected Public: Individuals or households.
    Estimated Number of Respondents: 40,000.
