Modification of Special Permit.
ACTION:
SUMMARY: In accordance with the
procedures governing the application
for, and the processing of, special
permits from the Department of
Transportation’s Hazardous Material
Regulations (49 CFR Part 107, Subpart
B), notice is hereby given that the Office
of Hazardous Materials Safety has
received the application described
herein. This notice is abbreviated to
expedite docketing and public notice.
Because the sections affected, modes of
transportation, and the nature of
application have been shown in earlier
Federal Register publications, they are
not repeated here. Request of
modifications of special permits (e.g., to
provide for additional hazardous
materials, packaging design changes,
additional mode of transportation, etc.)
are described in footnotes to the
application number. Application
numbers with the suffix ‘‘M’’ denote a
modification request. Their applications
have been separated from the new
application for special permits to
facilitate processing.

triplicate. If confirmation of receipt of
comments is desired, include a selfaddressed stamped postcard showing
the special permit number.

Abstract: Under the terms of Internal
Revenue Code sections 7702B and 101g,
qualified long-term care and accelerated
death benefits paid to chronically ill
individuals are treated as amounts
received for expenses incurred for
medical care. Amounts received on a
per diem basis in excess of $175 per day
are taxable. Code section 6050Q requires
all such amounts to be reported.
Current Actions: There are no changes
being made to the form at this time.
Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Businesses or other
for-profit organizations, individuals or
households, not-for-profit institutions,
and state, local or tribal governments.
Estimated Number of Responses:
79,047.
Estimated Time per Response: 14
minutes.
