Overview of This Information
Collection
(1) Type of Information Collection:
Revision of a currently approved
collection.
(2) Title of the Form/Collection:
Application for Explosives License or
Permit.
(3) Agency form number, if any, and
the applicable component of the
Department of Justice sponsoring the
collection: Form Number: ATF F
5400.13/5400.16. Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
(4) Affected public who will be asked
or required to respond, as well as a brief
abstract: Primary: Business or other forprofit. Other: Individuals or households.
Abstract: The form has been revised to

The classes are: Manufacturer, Dealer,

of explosives materials being
manufactured, imported, acquired and
used by explosives licensees and
permittees, however, they will no longer
be classified by type code.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: There will be an estimated
10,000 respondents, who will complete
the form within approximately 1 hour
and 30 minutes.
(6) An estimate of the total burden (in
hours) associated with the collection:
There are an estimated 15,000 total
burden hours associated with this
collection.
