Based on the above, Whirlpool
proposes to test its upgraded models as
if the test procedure were modified to
calculate the energy of the unit by
testing the unit with the anticondensation disabled plus the AntiSweat Heater Power multiplied by 1.3 to
determine the energy of the unit when
the heaters are active.
Conclusion
Whirlpool urges the Assistant
Secretary to grant this Petition and
allow Whirlpool to test its upgraded
French Door Bottom Mount refrigerator
models as described above. We believe
that granting our request will encourage
manufacturers to introduce new
technologies into their products without
having to worry about any adverse
impact to energy consumption.
