filed with the Commission an
application under section 7(b) of the
Natural Gas Act (NGA) for authorization
to abandon, in place and by sale, to
CenterPoint Energy Field Services, Inc.
(CEFS) a 4.6 mile segment of Line 2–C–
2 located in the State of Oklahoma. In
conjunction with the abandonment,
CEGT seeks determination that the
facilities, once conveyed to CEFS, will
be a gathering facility exempt from the
Commission’s jurisdiction under NGA
section 1(b). This filing is available for

Transco proposes to abandon in place
an approximately 17.2-mile long, 20inch diameter supply lateral that
extends between South Marsh Island
Block 23 and Eugene Island Block 129,
offshore Louisiana. Transco states that
the line ruptured on March 11, 2006, in
the Eugene Island Block 135 area.
Transco determined that the line was
originally damaged in 2005 during
Hurricane Rita by a drilling rig set adrift
while dragging its anchors. Transco also
states that it isolated the line, blew it
down, and took it out of service. Upon
approval of Transco’s request to
abandon the lateral, Transco would
clean the line, then plug it and bury the
ends. Transco also states that its
proposed abandonment would not
involve the physical removal of any
facilities. Transco estimates its
abandonment cost at $5,360,000.
