have given notice under section 4 of the
Bank Holding Company Act (12 U.S.C.
1843) (BHC Act) and Regulation Y (12
CFR Part 225) to engage de novo, or to
acquire or control voting securities or
assets of a company, including the
companies listed below, that engages
either directly or through a subsidiary or
other company, in a nonbanking activity
that is listed in § 225.28 of Regulation Y
(12 CFR 225.28) or that the Board has
determined by Order to be closely
related to banking and permissible for
bank holding companies. Unless
otherwise noted, these activities will be
conducted throughout the United States.
Each notice is available for inspection
at the Federal Reserve Bank indicated.
The notice also will be available for

announces the following committee
meetings:

NCHM).
Times and Dates: 10 a.m.–5 p.m., June 5,
2008. 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m., June 6, 2008.

Purpose: The board provides advice to the
Secretary, Department of Health and Human
Services; and the Director, Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, on strategies
and goals for the programs and research
within the national center; conducts peer
review of scientific programs; and monitors
the overall strategic direction and focus of
the national center. The board also performs
second-level peer review of applications for
grants-in-aid for research and research
training activities, cooperative agreements,
and research contract proposals relating to
the broad areas within the national center.
Matters to be Discussed: The agenda will
include a general overview of the NCHM and
discussions related to the Center’s role in
preparedness, response and recovery with
regards to an outbreak of pandemic
influenza.
Agenda items are subject to change as
priorities dictate.

SUMMARY: The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) is announcing an
opportunity for public comment on the
proposed collection of certain
information by the agency. Under the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (the
PRA), Federal agencies are required to
publish notice in the Federal Register
concerning each proposed collection of
information and to allow 60 days for
public comment in response to the
notice. This notice solicits comments on
a survey of food industry supervisory
employees about their awareness and
perceptions of FDA’s Food Defense
Awareness Initiative ALERT.
