contain current references used in the

ACTION:
SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the
Federal Advisory Committee Act of
1972, (5 U.S.C. Appendix, as amended),
the Government in the Sunshine Act of
1976 (5 U.S.C. 552b, as amended), and
41 CFR 102–3.65, the Department of
Defense gives notice that it is renewing
the charter for the Defense Department
Advisory Committee on Women in the
Services (hereafter referred to as the
Committee).
The Committee is a discretionary
federal advisory committee established
by the Secretary of Defense to provide
the Department of Defense, and the
Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel
and Readiness), independent advice and
recommendations on matters and
policies relating to the recruitment and
retention, treatment, employment,
integration, and well-being of highly
qualified professional women in the
Armed Forces and provide advice and
recommendations on family issues
related to. The Committee, in
accomplishing its mission: (a) Reports
and recommends healthcare issues
specific to female service members; and
(b) provides recommendations to
military spouse career and employment
opportunity.
The Committee shall be composed of
not more than 15 members, who
represent a distribution of demography,
professional career fields, community
service, and geography, and selected on
the basis of their experience in the
military, as a member of a military
family, or with women’s or familyrelated workforce issues. Committee
members appointed by the Secretary of
Defense, who are not federal officers or
employees, shall serve as Special
