savings associations establish a written
security program is necessitated by the
Bank Protection Act (12 U.S.C. 1881–
1884), which requires the Federal
supervisory agencies to promulgate
rules establishing minimum standards
with which each financial institution
must comply with respect to the
installation, maintenance, and operation
of security devices and procedures to
discourage robberies, burglaries, and
larcenies, and to assist in the
identification and apprehension of
persons who commit such acts.
Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.

Certification Form.
OMB Number: 1550–0096.
Form Number: Form 1661.
Description: OTS uses the results of
the certification process to maintain an
accurate listing of minority-owned
thrifts. OTS provides training, technical
assistance, and education programs to
those thrifts throughout the year. In
addition, OTS uses the list to provide
information to potential investors who
may be interested in supporting
minority-owned thrifts.
Finally, OTS reports annually to
Congress on its efforts to support
minority-owned thrifts, in accordance
with Section 301 of the Financial
Institutions Reform, Recovery and
Enforcement Act of 1989.
Type of Review: Revision of a
currently approved collection.
