Description of Project: The proposed Providence Water Release Hydroelectric Project will include: (1) A 20-foot-long, 12-inch-diameter pipe, carrying overflow releases from the 60inch-diameter pipe which carries water to the Providence Water Treatment Plant; (2) a proposed concrete facility containing two turbines with a total capacity of approximately 200 kW; (3) a short tailrace channeling water through a blow-off structure which discharges into the North Branch, Pawtuxet River; and (4) appurtenant facilities. The project will not be connected to the interstate grid. Power generated will be used by the water treatment plant. The proposed project will not occupy any tribal or federal lands.
