The Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission (FERC) and the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold
a joint meeting on April 8, 2008 at the
headquarters of the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission, 888 First
Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426. The
meeting is expected to begin at 10 a.m.
and conclude at 12 noon (EST).
Purpose of the Meeting
The NRC and FERC signed a
Memorandum of Agreement on
September 1, 2004, to facilitate
interactions between the two agencies
on matters of mutual interest pertaining
to the nation’s bulk power system
reliability. Since signing this agreement,
the two agencies have met on April 24,
2006, and January 23, 2007, to engage in
dialogue to further the goals of this
Memorandum of Agreement. These
goals included grid reliability issues and
the roles of the respective agencies in
addressing these issues.
Format for Joint Meeting of
Commissions
The format for the joint meeting will
be discussions between the two sets of
Commissioners following presentations
by their respective staffs. In addition,

Electric Reliability Council (NERC) and
