SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44
U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Secretariat has submitted to the Office
of Management and Budget (OMB) a
request to review and approve an
extension of a currently approved
information collection requirement
concerning certification of independent
price determination and parent
company and identifying data. A
request for public comments was
published in the Federal Register at 72
FR 64587, on November 16, 2007. No
comments were received. This OMB
clearance expires on April, 30, 2008.
Public comments are particularly
invited on: Whether this collection of
information is necessary for the proper
performance of functions of the FAR,
and whether it will have practical
utility; whether our estimate of the
public burden of this collection of
information is accurate, and based on
valid assumptions and methodology;
ways to enhance the quality, utility, and
clarity of the information to be
collected; and ways in which we can
minimize the burden of the collection of
information on those who are to
respond, through the use of appropriate
technological collection techniques or
other forms of information technology.
DATES: Submit comments on or before
March 10, 2008.

Agencies are required to report under
41 U.S.C. 252(d) and 10 U.S.C. 2305(d)
suspected violations of the antitrust
laws (e.g., collusive bidding, identical
bids, uniform estimating systems, etc.)
to the Attorney General.
As a first step in assuring that
Government contracts are not awarded
to firms violating such laws, offerors on
Government contracts must complete
the certificate of independent price
determination. An offer will not be
considered for award where the
certificate has been deleted or modified.
Deletions or modifications of the
certificate and suspected false
certificates are reported to the Attorney
General.

Responses Per Respondent: 20.
Total Responses: 1,285,000.

The Buy American Act requires that
only domestic end products be acquired
for public use unless specifically
authorized by statute or regulation,
provided that the cost of the domestic
products is reasonable.
The Buy American Act Certificate
provides the contracting office with the
information necessary to identify which
products offered are domestic end
products and which are of foreign
origin. Components of unknown origin
are considered to have been supplied
from outside the United States.
