6. The purposes of the survey are to
collect information and produce
periodic reports about the operational
status of U.S. natural gas processing
plants to improve public understanding
of their production capacities and
operating levels as well as to monitor
constraints resulting from natural gas
supply emergencies. The survey
consists of Schedule A ‘‘Baseline
Report,’’ a census which will be used to
collect baseline operational information
on all U.S. natural gas processing plants.
Schedule A will collect information as
frequently as every three years and the
information will be used for periodic
reports on the plants as well as to
develop the survey frame for Schedule
B ‘‘Emergency Status Report’’. In the
event of a natural gas supply emergency,
Schedule B will collect information
about operating levels, damage and
recovery of operations.
