display. The animal was recovered as an
orphaned cub in Alaska in 1988. The
Service has determined that this animal
does not demonstrate the skills and
abilities needed to survive in the wild.

Conservation Commission, Fish and

The applicant requests renewal and
amendment of their permit to capture,
tag, drug, collect biological specimens,
photograph, aerial survey, and harass
Florida manatees (Trichechus manatus)
and to import, export, and re-export
biological specimens from all manatees
(T. manatus, T. inunguis, and T.
senegalensis) and dugongs (Dugong
dugon) for the purpose of scientific
research. This notification covers
activities to be conducted by the
applicant over a five-year period.
Concurrent with the publication of
this notice in the Federal Register, the
