Specifically, Southern proposes to
continue the use of the Woodcliff
Compressor Unit, rated at 5,278
horsepower, that was installed as an
emergency facility in order to restore the
availability of Southern’s gulf coast
infrastructure caused in August and
September 2005 by Hurricanes Katrina
and Rita. Southern states that the total
cost for refurbishing and installation
was $2,177,371. Southern asserts that it
would be more economical to continue
the use of the unit at its refurbished
state rather than place it back in storage
and the unit continues to be a
worthwhile asset to support incremental
gas supplies on the system. Southern
states that the unit will not be utilized
to serve additional firm requirements.
Any questions regarding the
application should be directed to
Patricia S. Francis, Senior Counsel,
Southern Natural Gas Company, Post
Office Box 2563, Birmingham, Alabama
35202–2563, or call at (205) 325–7696.
Any person or the Commission’s Staff
may, within 60 days after the issuance
of the instant notice by the Commission,

of intervention and, pursuant to section
157.205 of the Commission’s
Regulations under the Natural Gas Act
(NGA) (18 CFR 157.205) a protest to the
request. If no protest is filed within the
time allowed therefore, the proposed
activity shall be deemed to be
authorized effective the day after the
time allowed for protest. If a protest is
filed and not withdrawn within 30 days
after the time allowed for filing a
protest, the instant request shall be
treated as an application for
authorization pursuant to section 7 of
the NGA.

electronic filings of comments, protests,

of paper. See 18 CFR 385.2001(a)(1)(iii)
