Take notice that on July 23, 2007, Petal Gas Storage, LLC. (Petal), 1100 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas 77002, filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission), an abbreviated application pursuant to section 7(b) of the Natural Gas Act (NGA), as amended, and part 157 of the Commission’s regulations for authorization to abandon in place certain facilities previously authorized under this docket by the Commission on March 28, 2007. Specifically, Petal proposes to abandon the conversion of Cavern No. 9 to natural gas storage (formerly used to store natural gas liquids) as well as abandon in place approximately 2,055 feet of six inch diameter associated pipeline that has already been constructed. Petal states that Cavern No. 9 was found to be unsuitable for natural gas storage because it will leak under the pressures required for natural gas storage all as more fully set forth in the application which is on file with the Commission and open to public inspection.
