Confidentiality is an issue to the extent
that individuals’ and households’

Needs and Uses: Section 258 of the
Telecommunications Act of 1996
directed the Commission to prescribe

enable the Commission to deter
slamming, while protecting consumers
from carriers that take advantage of
consumer confusion over different types
of telecommunications services.
